YouTube/Nick SussTonight’s Alabama-LSU game got very feisty in the third quarter. A sideline fracas resulted in four different penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct.Alabama defensive lineman Da’Ron Payne and LSU’s Colin Jeter got tangled up in a tackle attempt that went out of bounds. It eventually devolved into a large-scale shoving match between Crimson Tide and Tiger players that fell short of becoming a brawl, but did earn the two teams a combined four unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.Unsportsmanlike conduct in abundance https://t.co/SFFvEkNyzS— Joe Fleming (@ByJoeFleming) November 6, 2016Fans on Twitter are not happy with the result at all. Three of the penalties were on Alabama, to one for LSU, but the penalties still completely offset.I turned to the LSU Bama game and Bama had 3 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and LSU had 1. But somehow all offset? ??? okay then.— Taylor Sabo (@SaboIsland) November 6, 2016Alabama had 3 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on 1 play and their cheap shot started all of it. LSU had one. Offsetting. Makes sense.— KDK (@vach1244) November 6, 2016That unsportsmanlike penalty against LSU was so garbage, but then again the refs looking out for Alabama, what surprise ?— Pedro Rodriguez (@Pedro_1876) November 6, 2016Please explain how 3 Unsportsmanlike on Bama vs 1 on LSU is offsetting each other ?????? #BAMAvsLSU #refereeBULL— Misty Tipler (@mistydawntipler) November 6, 2016Early in the fourth quarter, we just got our first score in this defensive slugfest: a 21-yard Jalen Hurts touchdown run. The game is pretty reminiscent of the awesome 2011 battle between these two SEC West rivals, which LSU won 6-3. Of course, Alabama got its revenge in the national championship later in the year, dominating the Tigers 21-0.There is still plenty of time, of course, although the Tigers offense has had little luck against Alabama excellent defense. A win would be massive for interim head coach Ed Orgeron, as he tries to lock up the full time job at LSU.Alabama leads 7-0 with 13:08 to play.
