On yesterday, he made an offer to a player who won’t be in high school for over a year: Detroit-area quarterback Dante Moore.Moore attended a camp at UM on Monday, where he was evaluated by Harbaugh in the staff. Afterwards, he was extended the offer.Former Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner may be a key in the recruitment. Moore considers Gardner, who finished up his career in Ann Arbor in 2014, a mentor.Moore’s father spoke to the Detroit Free-Press about the offer, after it came yesterday.“(Harbaugh) just said he had heard word about him and (asked) was I bringing him to the camp,” Otha said. “He was looking forward to meeting him. He has been working out with Devin (Gardner) a lot, as well as Quarterback U. He has been on Devin’s Instagram. I think that’s where Harbaugh saw him.”Devin Gardner spoke to WolverinesWire about Dante Moore, who he considers a special prospect:“The best thing about him, aside from the fact that he can make most all the throws that high school kids make, is he’s really just a young kid who enjoys working hard and playing football!” Gardner told WolverinesWire. “He’s a great kid who’s respectful and focused on all the right things, which for him right now are doing well in school, playing football, working out, playing soccer, doing his chores, and just being a KID!”Moore has extremely impressive size for a player his age. According to the Free-Press report, he is listed at 6-foot-2, 165 pounds. It is hard to know where he’ll end up at a recruit as we get closer to the 2023 recruiting cycle. Michigan is willing to bet on him though, and wants to be involved early.[Detroit Free-Press; WolverinesWire]
