DDTV – COUNTDOWN TO CLONES: CUNNINGHAM – “I’M BACKING DONEGAL TO WIN THE ULSTER TITLE, BUT IT’LL BE CLOSE

first_imgDDTV – COUNTDOWN TO CLONES: Irish Daily Star chief sports writer Kieran Cunningham is backing Donegal to win on Sunday but feels as is the general consensus that it will be a very, very close game.Cunningham, a native of Glencolmcille feels that Monaghan will take heart from their historical record against Donegal in the championship.Monaghan defeated Donegal in 2013 to end a 25-year wait for the Anglo Celt and when Donegal won back the Anglo Celt from Malachy O’Rourke’s side last year it was the first time since 1979 that Donegal bat Monaghan in the championship. In the league clash between the two sides at O’Donnell Park in February Monaghan edged Donegal out in what was a dreadful game. While it may not be a classic encounter on Sunday, Cunningham feels it will be enthralling to watch and with nothing between the two sides it will go right down to the wire.To watch the full interview with Charlie Collins for Donegal TV simply click play on the video above.DDTV – COUNTDOWN TO CLONES: CUNNINGHAM – “I’M BACKING DONEGAL TO WIN THE ULSTER TITLE, BUT IT’LL BE CLOSE was last modified: July 15th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:donegaldonegal tvGAAKieran CunninghamMonaghannewsSportUlster SFClast_img read more

Meet Bixby Samsungs New Virtual Assistant

first_imgStay on target Robot Dog Astro Can Sit, Lie Down, and Save LivesMIT’s AI Knitting System Designs, Creates Woven Garments Better late than never: Samsung this week introduced Bixby, a new intelligent interface that offers “a deeper experience” than other voice agents or assistants in the market.“It is the machine that needs to learn and adapt to us,” Injong Rhee, executive vice president of software and services at Samsung Electronics, wrote in a Monday blog announcement.“With this new approach, Samsung has employed artificial intelligence, reinforcing deep learning concepts to the core of our user interface designs,” Rhee continued. “Bixby is the ongoing result of this effort.”The AI platform boasts proficiency in the three Cs: completeness, context awareness, and cognitive tolerance. That is, once Bixby-enabled, an application can support almost any traditional touch task using voice commands; seamlessly switch between tapping and speaking without losing your work.“At its core, Bixby will help remove friction,” according to Rhee. “It will simplify user education with new voice interfaces and will make using your phone even more seamless and intuitive.”A dedicated Bixby button, located on the side of new Samsung devices, eliminates hassle; instead of taking multiple steps to make a call, simply press the Bixby button and say a command.“We do have a bold vision of revolutionizing the human-to-machine interface, but that vision won’t be realized overnight,” Rhee said. “Ambition takes time.”As such, Bixby is Samsung’s “first step on a journey” to streamlining phone use—starting with the Galaxy S8. The new handset comes pre-installed with a subset of Bixby-enabled applications; look for additional functions added over time. The company also plans to release an SDK to enable third-party developers to build applications and services for Bixby. And, like Siri, Alexa, Cortana, and Google Assistant, Samsung’s secretary will gradually branch out from smartphones to the firm’s other branded appliances. In the future, the blog teased, you will be able to control your air conditioner or TV through the cloud-based platform.“Bixby is at the heart of our software and services evolution as a company,” Rhee wrote. “Innovating in software and services enables opportunities for creativity and the ability to build new experiences from the ground up. With the continued investment from Samsung on artificial intelligence, the possibility of what Bixby can become is endless.”Everything you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy S8last_img read more
